Ways to increase Libido

Everywhere you turn you can’t help but see the hearts and signs of love all around. February the month of love! I think every month should be the month of love and every day we should love more and spread more love to everyone we meet.

If you are in your 20s to 40s your libido should be at its peak but with all we have as women on our plate it can seem like sex is the last thing on your mind.

Some of the causes of low libido:

Being overworked. Most women have seems to be juggling numerous different roles and jobs at a time, whether it be running your own business, working a full time job, raising a family and taking care of a spouse or sick family member or all of the above at the same time. When we are overworked and over stressed we tend to have a lower libido.

If you feel you are over worked and stressed out all the time then it may be time to take some time for yourself. Is there a way you can hand off some of your responsibilities? Get a house keeper, buy already prepared meals for your family so you don’t have to cook all the time. Take a look at the causes of your stresses and being overworked and see if there are any ways you can manage it.

You may also want to work on improving he adrenals to help balance the stress. Be sure that you are controlling your blood sugar and eating every few hours to support the adrenals, getting enough sleep and participating in stress reducing activities like walking, yoga, mediation, or whatever help to calm you and lower cortisol levels.

Birth control pills and anti depressants. These are both very common causes of low libido in woman. The hormones and drugs in these pill seems to interfere with our natural desires for sex and intimacy.

If you don’t need to be on hormonal birth control then see if you can find an alternative non hormonal form of birth control that will not affect your libido. Also, if you are on a prescriptive anti depressant that is negatively impacting your sex life speak to your doctor and see if there is another alternative to the medication you may be taking.

Too much masculine energy. As a modern woman we tend to be a little exude a little more masculine energy.  Some of us are the breadwinner in the family or are a powerhouse in business and have learned to be independent and be able to do everything on our own. This can sometimes throws off our sexual energy in bed.

We can balance our energy by surrounding ourselves with more feminine energy and increasing non sexual pleasure in your life. For example buy some pretty flowers for your desk, listen to music that makes you happy, use body lotions that make you feel good, get massages, etc.
