How I Was 20 lbs Lighter After One Weekend

Last weekend after my usual Saturday morning workout at the gym, I walked into my home on a beautiful Spring day and opened the windows to let the fresh air in.  As I was about to sit down to relax for the afternoon and do some work on one of my newest nutrition program something stopped me.

I got up and started completely cleaning out my home of clutter and things that I didn't need anymore.  Umm..do you think I can still use gluten free pasta that expired in 2009?  Now, in case you don't know, I don't like to clean, I would do anything not to clean but last weekend I could not stop.

Do I really need 85 bags??

Whatever it was that came over me, I spent two days spring cleaning my home, getting rid of anything that didn't bring me joy or I felt I didn't need anymore.  I threw away over 20 bags of crap I had lying around in my house that I didn't need!  And let me tell you, it felt amazing!  It made me feel so much lighter and you could actually feel the energy just shift in my home.

Spring is a great time for new beginnings and a time to let go of things that no longer serve to bring us happiness.  It is a time to make space to attract new things into your life.

Look at all that trash!!

Here is a Spring detox exercise for you:

Go through you home and remove anything that you don't need or want in your home.  This can mean anything from expired food, old mail, and clothes that don't fit or flatter you anymore.  You want to get rid of things that drain your energy and take up space if you want to allow new things to come into your life.

Then make a list of feelings that you want to get rid of, for example; I want to release the feeling of not feeling good about myself if I don't fit into my "skinny jeans" or whatever you want to release.

Take that piece of paper and release everything you want to get rid of by burning the list.

Then make a new list of things you want to bring into your life.  Write that list and then put it somewhere you won't see it and then forget about it.

Watch and wait for what you want to come into your life.

This is what Spring is all about!  Getting rid of the old and what weighs you down and bringing in new beginnings.
