Fall into Great Skin!

October 14, 2018

With the changing of the seasons, your skin care regime should also reflect some changes too.

Cooler weather in fall means less humidity in the air and less moisture for you skin.

The time of year is also a great time to focus on repairing the damage your skin has been exposed to all summer long.

Here are my top suggestions for Fall Perfect Skin!

Clean the slate. After months of constant sun exposures during the summer our skin can take little bit of a beating.

Sun exposure, hormones, and birth control pills can all lead to visible sun spots on your skin.  The aging rays in the UVA spectrum are present from sun-up to sun-down, 365 days a year, rain or shine, and even penetrate window glass.

Nutrients to put topically on the skin include Vitamin C, salicylic acid and licorice to brighten skin, fade the appearance of discoloration and reveal a more radiant complexion.

Retinol enhances skin brightening while diminishing the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

Hydroquinone to quickly address persistent discoloration to optimize skin brightening.

I recommend using a product that contain these ingredients in helping to reverse sun damage on your skin is to use a topical skin care regime. The products I recommend are Rodan and Fields Reverse regime.

Increase Moisture and Hydration. With weather changing to more of a drier air it is important to increase hydration in the skin.

Opt to choose a heavier moisturizer that will help to lock in hydration in the skin. You can also chose hydration serums that help to lock in moisture in the face and body.

My favorite hydration product is called Active Hydration and you can get it here.

Exfoliation is key to help remove old skin cells and make sure your skin is glowing and keeps the skin’s surface soft and smooth.

Exfoliation of the skin also allows the skin to be clean and clears the way for your other skin care products.

Bring back the retinols. Retinols are important in anti aging and preventing wrinkles.

During the summer months many people tend to not use them as much because they can cause your skin to be sensitive in the sun.

Now that we are not getting as much sun exposure as we tend to do in the summer this is a great time of year to bring back the retinol into your skin care routine.

Drink up! Water, Bone Broth and Collagen!

To help keep skin hydrated be sure to drink plenty of water throughout your day.

Also, adding in Bone Broth and Collagen help to build collagen in the skin and keep your skin looking healthy and glowing!
