Now that Summer is over and you may have had a little too many drinks and indulged a little too much over the last few months and may be feeling a little more lethargic than usaul.

I wanted to share some of my secrets about how to detox and balance your hormones after a little too much partying.

Increase the following foods in your diet:

Eggs and other lean proteins like turkey and salmon all contain protein that helps to support the liver (the liver helps to detox anything toxic in your body).

They also have compounds that help to support neurotransmitters in our brain that help us feel happy and well balanced.

Glutathione-heavy vegetables like avocados, carrots, broccoli, spinach,
apples,
asparagus and melon. Glutathione is an antioxidant that helps to support the liver and helps support detoxification.

Oats and Brazil Nuts contain Selenium, a mineral that is also helps to support the liver. It helps to to boost immunity strength an protects the liver from dangerous toxins in the body.

Cilantro helps to cleanse the liver and aids in detoxing. Add it to your favorite foods as garnish and great seasoning.

Healthy fats like almonds, coconut, walnuts, olives, and avocado all help support the liver and help to balance hormones.

Bone broth is great to reduce inflammation in the body.

Have a green smoothie. No need to do a 3 day only green smoothie detox, just one a day will do. Add some superfoods in your smoothie like spirulina, maca, chia seed and flax seeds.

Supplementation:

Alcohol can also deplete vitamin and mineral stores so it is important to supplement with these to help to bring your body back to balance and feeling good!

A Vitamin B complex is important to supplement with because these are the first vitamins that are depleted from alcohol. A high quality Vitamin B complex will help to replenish stores of the vitamin B that have been depleted.

Selenium and Glutathione are also important to supplement with to help support the body in it’s detoxification processes and replenish stores that have been depleted.

Milk Thistle and Artichoke Leaf can also help to cleanse and supper the liver. These are also great to use as a supplmantaaion to help support the liver after a little too much alcohol.

If you are having trouble with sleep taking a Magnesium supplement will also help to promote healthy sleep.

I hope you had a great summer just like I did and know that you don’t need to go on a strict detox/cleanse after, but making some simple changes that I have outlined above to help support your body will help you to rebalance your hormones and help you to feel great in no time!
